TRIPOLI (LIBYA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) — Libya’s Office of the Attorney General has completed the initial investigative procedures into the aircraft accident involving a Cessna Citation Latitude (C68A) that veered off the runway at Misrata International Airport.
According to an official statement issued by the prosecutor’s office, the investigator inspected the wreckage, reviewed air traffic control data and weather reports from the flight and landing, and questioned the technicians responsible for the landing operation.
Twenty-four hours later, the crew was questioned about the circumstances surrounding the runway excursion. The captain and first officer were confronted with allegations that they had operated the aircraft while intoxicated, creating a concrete danger to themselves, the aircraft and the airport.
