Malta’s recognition of Palestinian State in September is “unconditional”

VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Prime Minister Robert Abela confirmed that Malta will officially recognise the state of Palestine in September, calling it an “unconditional” commitment.

Speaking in parliament, Abela said the move would be formalised during the United Nations General Assembly, as part of a broader international effort to push for peace and a two-state solution in the Middle East.

“The recognition will not depend on any conditions,” he stressed, contrasting Malta’s stance with that of the UK, which announced a conditional recognition on Tuesday.
