VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife Lydia Abela have concluded an official visit to Paris, where they attended France’s National Day celebrations at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.
The Prime Minister joined members of the French Government and international leaders at the Bastille Day military parade held at Place de la Concorde, one of the highlights of the annual commemorations.
A contingent from the Armed Forces of Malta also took part in the parade alongside military units from other European Union member states, representing the EU during the celebrations.
In a statement, the Office of the Prime Minister described the invitation from President Macron, in the final year of his second presidential term, as a significant diplomatic and political gesture.
The government said the invitation reflects the strong bilateral relations and longstanding friendship between Malta and France.
The visit formed part of continued efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries across political and diplomatic sectors.
