Malta, italian motorcyclist dies after crash

VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – A 21-year-old Italian man has died following a traffic accident in Pembroke, Malta. The police confirmed that the victim, who had been seriously injured in a crash on Triq Sant Andrija two days earlier, succumbed to his injuries at Mater Dei Hospital.

The incident took place on August 14 at around 5:30 a.m. Initial investigations revealed that the man had been riding a Kymco Agility motorbike when he lost control and slammed into a concrete barricade. Emergency responders treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital, where he was certified as being in a critical condition.

The young rider’s death marks the 19th road fatality in Malta this year, six of which involved motorcyclists.

Magistrate Monica Borg Galea has appointed an inquiry into the fatal crash, while police investigations are ongoing.
