LA VALLETTA (ITALPRESS) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – On the eve of Malta assuming the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Ian Borg announced that Malta will be contributing financially to the Council of Europe’s Action Plan in support of Ukraine.
Speaking at a meeting in Luxembourg, Borg emphasized Malta’s steadfast commitment to peace, clarifying that the financial assistance will not be used for weapons or ammunition. Instead, the funds will aid efforts aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s administrative and social structures, as the country continues to grapple with the devastating consequences of Russia’s invasion. “Malta, in a concrete way, is once again giving its support to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in favour of the Action Plan of the Council of Europe,” Borg stated. “Our assistance is humanitarian and institutional—meant to help rebuild Ukraine’s institutions and capabilities once this war ends.”
