VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS) – The Maltese government has officially banned the synthetic cannabinoid CC9, just two months after health authorities and experts raised concerns about its availability and health risks.
The ban was enacted through two legal notices, adding CC9, also known as HHC-C9, to the list of psychotropic substances under the Medical and Kindred Professions Ordinance and to the restricted drugs list under the Drugs (Control) Regulations.
The Forensic Analysis Lab at the University of Malta first flagged the substance in April, warning that CC9 was being sold in products marketed as synthetic cannabis.
