VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Pilots at KM Malta Airlines have unanimously approved industrial action, which may include strike directives or the suspension of services.
The Airline Pilots’ Association (ALPA) is leading the dispute, claiming the airline has ignored basic requests such as the publication of its financial accounts and the pilots’ seniority list.
In a secret ballot held earlier this week, pilots gave their union full backing to proceed with industrial action. ALPA is currently in the process of formally notifying the airline of its intention to act.
According to Maltese law, employers must be given 48 hours’ notice before any industrial action can take place.
