VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – American pop star Katy Perry will headline this year’s Isle of MTV Malta, organisers have confirmed, in a move expected to draw thousands to the island’s flagship summer concert. The annual open-air event, typically held in July at the Floriana Granaries, remains one of Malta’s largest music gatherings, attracting international audiences each year.
The announcement follows recent remarks by Tourism Minister Ian Borg, who hinted that the 2026 edition could feature “possibly the biggest headliner ever”. Perry, a global chart-topping artist, has made music history with five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, cementing her status as one of pop’s most influential performers. Organisers said her participation is set to elevate the festival’s profile further, continuing a long-standing tradition of securing major international acts. Since its launch in 2007, Isle of MTV Malta has hosted a string of high-profile performers, including Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, David Guetta and Jason Derulo.
