VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Malta has reiterated its solidarity with its Gulf and Middle Eastern partners following the escalation of tensions linked to Iran’s attacks in the region. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ian Borg called for restraint, de-escalation, and diplomacy to restore stability and security.
During an Iftar dinner held yesterday in Mdina with ambassadors and senior diplomats from the Gulf, Middle Eastern, and North African countries present in Malta, Borg said: “We are deeply grateful to our Gulf partners for the immediate assistance offered to Maltese residents and travelers in the region.” Borg added that Malta remains committed to intensifying its engagement with the Gulf and Middle Eastern countries, while promoting closer cooperation between these states and the European Union, and that Malta will continue to support a peace based on international law and respect for the sovereignty of states.
