JAKARTA (INDONESIA) (ITALPRESS) – 50-year-old Englishman John Herdman is the new coach of Indonesia, replacing Patrick Kluivert, who was removed two months ago after the defeat to Iraq that denied qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Herdman, former coach of Toronto, is the only coach to have led the women’s and men’s national teams of the same country, in his case, Canada, to the World Cup: he achieved this feat with the women in the 2007 and 2011 editions (also leading them to Olympic bronze in London and Rio), while with the men, he qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
