LONDON (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Mikel Arteta finally has his striker: the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres at the Gunners is official. He was acquired permanently from Sporting Lisbon, where he scored 97 goals in 102 games over two seasons, in addition to 12 goals in 17 appearances for the Swedish national team. The 27-year-old striker has signed a long-term contract with Arsenal, the duration of which has not been specified.
This is not Gyokeres‘ first experience across the Channel, having previously played for Brighton, Swansea, and Coventry. He will wear the number 14 shirt – the same worn by Thierry Henry at the Gunners – and a plane ticket to join the team currently on tour in Asia. The London club has not disclosed the transaction figures, but according to Portuguese media, it will cost €63.5 million plus €10 million in bonuses.
