BARCELONA (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – After several weeks of negotiations, Barcelona has officially confirmed Fermin Lopez’s contract extension until 2031. In what is likely the best season of his career, the Blaugrana talent has extended his contract further, marking his third extension in the last two and a half years.

Ten goals and eleven assists in twenty-six appearances are the stats of a player who is proving he doesn’t want to be left in the shadow of a predestined talent like Lamine Yamal. Recently, he has been literally dragging Flick’s team forward, successfully leveraging the talent of the 2003-born player.

Despite everything, the Blaugrana club chose to maintain the €500 million release clause, while increasing the financial conditions. During the summer transfer window, Chelsea attempted to secure the Spaniard’s services, making an offer of around €40 million, which was promptly rejected by Barcelona. Yet another step forward for Laporta’s club, which demonstrates its masterful ability to manage and retain its young players, with a squad that does not hesitate to draw from the “Masìa”, finding in it one of its greatest strengths.
