CAIRO (EGYPT) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Sixteen people died and another 28 were injured when a bus overturned this morning on the road between Dahab and Nuweiba, in Egypt’s South Sinai Governorate. According to Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, the central operations room was activated immediately after the accident was reported; 20 ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide first aid and transport the injured to medical facilities.
The 28 injured individuals are currently receiving necessary treatment and undergoing constant medical monitoring, while the 16 victims died at the scene. Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar ordered an increase in the alert level and the full mobilization of emergency services and medical teams. He also instructed Ahmed El Sobky, Chairman of the Healthcare Authority, to ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care and that necessary medicines and medical supplies are available, in coordination with the relevant authorities in South Sinai.
