LA VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS) – Delta Air Lines’ first direct flight from New York has landed at Malta International Airport, inaugurating a new transatlantic route linking Malta with the United States.
The service connects John F. Kennedy International Airport with Malta and represents a significant expansion in direct air connectivity between the two countries.
Delta will operate three weekly flights on the route from June through October, using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft.
The launch follows an announcement made last year by then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg.
Delta Air Lines, one of the largest carriers in the United States, said the new route is expected to strengthen both tourism and business ties between Malta and the US.
