ROME (ITALPRESS/MNA) – Philippe Coutinho has joined his friend and former Brazil national teammate Neymar at Santos FC, where he will play until the end of the season. The 34-year-old midfielder, formerly of Inter, Liverpool, and Barcelona, had been a free agent since leaving Vasco da Gama last February. Coutinho had returned to his boyhood club in 2024 but left after 81 appearances, stating that he felt “mentally exhausted.” Coutinho began his career at Vasco before moving to Inter and subsequently to Liverpool in 2013, where he scored 54 goals in 201 matches, before transferring to Barcelona in 2018 for £142 million (nearly €166 million). He later played for Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, and Al-Duhail, before returning to Vasco.
