Barcelona, Laporta “Miami match will benefit all clubs”

BARCELONA (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – We’re not thrilled about taking the team so far away, because it brings some inconveniences, but we need revenue. We don’t yet know how much we’ll earn from the match in Miami, but I can assure you that the income will be significantly higher than what we would have earned playing in Villarreal,” said Barcelona president Joan Laporta, speaking on the sidelines of the assembly to approve the budget forecast for the 2025-26 season.

Laporta revisited the long-standing issue of the La Liga match against the Yellow Submarine being moved to Miami. “The American market is very important for us. All clubs will benefit, but especially those that actually go there to play,” he added.

As for the budget forecast, the wage bill is expected to rise from €534 million to €565 million, but Barça plans to earn €55 million from selling players not in coach Flick’s plans, and €226 million from the revamped Camp Nou, with overall revenue projected to surpass €1 billion.

“I’m confident that the results will be even better than those presented,” Laporta emphasized.
