LONDON (UNITED KINGDOM) (ITALPRESS) – Arsenal are looking to strengthen their attack. The Gunners have already been linked with Julián Álvarez, but according to The Athletic, the North London club are also considering a move for Vinícius Júnior.
The 26-year-old Brazilian forward is entering the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, and negotiations over an extension have so far failed to produce an agreement.
Los Blancos are understandably unwilling to lose one of their star players on a free transfer. They are also keen to avoid paying the loyalty bonus Vinícius is entitled to for the upcoming season if he were to leave for nothing just a few months later.
For that reason, if no progress is made in contract talks, an immediate departure cannot be ruled out. Should that happen, Arsenal could step up their interest.
Since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018, Vinícius has made 375 appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring 128 goals—including 22 last season—and providing 100 assists.
