Argentina, football championships suspended due to a scandal involving financial fraud

BUENOS AIRES (ARGENTINA) (ITALPRESS) – These are days of great tension in the world of Argentine football. The AFA, the Argentine Football Federation, has been investigated by the Argentine Revenue Agency (ARCA), following a complaint from the latter. The federation is accused of having outstanding debts regarding some alleged unpaid tax obligations. Through its official channels, the AFA issued a statement stating that “it has no outstanding debts regarding the tax obligations that were used as the basis for the complaint filed by the ARCA.”

Finally, the statement announced that the ninth matchday of the national championship, and of the remaining categories, which was scheduled to take place between March 5th and 8th, will be officially suspended, following the unanimous request of all those present at the meeting of the Professional League’s Executive Committee.
