TENERIFE (SPAIN) (ITALPRESS) – Jesus De Miguel Alameda has passed away. Tenerife have announced the death of the 30-year-old Madrid-born footballer, who was involved in an accident during yesterday’s match against Andorra in Spain’s second division. The game was abandoned in the 98th minute, with the score at 2-2, after Jesus De Miguel collapsed unconscious on the pitch.
The Tenerife striker had been involved in a violent collision with opposing goalkeeper Owono, who had come out of his penalty area in an attempt to intercept him.
His condition immediately appeared critical. According to the club’s first medical update, De Miguel had suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. His heartbeat was subsequently “restored thanks to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) performed by medical personnel inside the ambulance”.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit at Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital, but his condition deteriorated overnight. He passed away this morning.
“Devastated by grief, with a lump in our throats and unable to believe that this is really happening, CD Tenerife announces the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel Alameda, which occurred at 8:00 am today, Tuesday, 3 November 2026,” the club said in a statement posted on social media.
“There are no words of comfort; absolutely nothing can ease this overwhelming feeling of sadness. Our thoughts are with his devastated family, his loved ones and the entire Tenerife community, which is mourning this tragic outcome today.
“Jesus de Miguel’s family wishes to thank everyone for every expression of support they have received and, at the same time, sincerely asks that their privacy be respected during these extremely difficult moments.”
