Tottenham, De Zerbi “We must improve, but i have faith in my players”

IPA88515211 - Tottenham Hotspur Manager Roberto De Zerbi looks dejected as he talks to Tottenham Hotspur Forward Mathys Tel (11) during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, UK on 12 September 2026.

LONDON (UNITED KINGDOM) (ITALPRESS) – “We started working with the entire squad ten days before the game against Everton. I think we are working well. We had 25-30 very good minutes during which we could have scored a couple of goals. Then perhaps we lost a bit of confidence because we didn’t score. We certainly need to improve, but I have great faith in my players. They are very good players.”

Roberto De Zerbi remains optimistic. His Tottenham have made a poor start to the Premier League season, with two points from four matches and no goals scored.

“We need to improve, yes. We can also say that the coach has some responsibility if we don’t score; I accept that, no problem. So far, we haven’t won a single game, we are disappointed and I’m sorry about that. But there are also other positive aspects: as I said, we haven’t conceded a goal in our last two games and we have started working on the things we need to improve. Nothing has changed in my project or in my ideas,” added De Zerbi, whose side will face Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

Tottenham will be without the injured Sandro Tonali.
