ROME (ITALPRESS) – Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner and reigning world champion with Spain, could be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
According to The Guardian, the Manchester City midfielder is dealing with a back injury that could require surgery, potentially keeping him out of action for an extended period.
Following Spain’s 1-0 victory over Argentina in last Sunday’s final in New Jersey, Rodri was named the tournament’s Best Player.
He now appears to be at risk of suffering another major setback after two injury-plagued seasons, which began with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear sustained during Manchester City’s match against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in September 2024.
