VALLETTA (MALTA) (ITALPRESS/MNA) – A bill aimed at strengthening Malta’s constitutional framework against discrimination has been presented in parliament, introducing wider legal protections and establishing a new national human rights watchdog.
The proposed legislation, one of the Labour government’s first 100-day pledges, was presented by Reforms and Equality Minister Rosianne Cutajar during its second reading on Tuesday.
The bill would create the National Commission for Human Rights and Equality (NCHRE), replacing the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality.
