BUDAPEST (HUNGARY) (ITALPRESS) – A night of riots and brawls in the streets of Budapest. According to reports in the British press, as well as numerous videos circulating on social media, after a relatively calm day before the match, several incidents occurred overnight between Arsenal and PSG fans, protagonists of the Champions League final scheduled for this evening in the Hungarian capital. Objects were thrown and brawls involving punches and kicks occurred, as documented by videos, but now the local police force’s focus is primarily on the mass arrival of ticketless fans.
“It’s no secret that the simultaneous presence of fans from London and Paris in Budapest poses a significant risk, and it’s our job to ensure that the situation doesn’t escalate,” Janos Zoltan Kuczik, police commander in charge of security for the final, was quoted by the Daily Star as saying. “We’ve strengthened our call centers, and French- and English-speaking staff are available.”
