RABAT (MOROCCO) (ITALPRESS) – Moroccan gas has begun flowing in Tendrara. Sound Energy announced the start of the first flows from the TE-5 Horst development project, marking the transition to the pre-production phase for the LNG micro-unit currently under construction. In a statement, the British company stated that it has received confirmation from operator Mana Energy of the start of commissioning activities.
The final element of the collection system, the SCADA computer, was installed on November 28, allowing gas from the TE-6 well to successfully flow into the GGS. The LNG micro-unit, built and operated by Italfluid Geoenergy, will supply Afriquia Gaz under a ten-year “take-or-pay” agreement for 100 million cubic meters per year, with a price indexed between $6 and $8.346 per MMBtu, based on the TTF and Henry Hub indices.
The project leverages the TE-6 and TE-7 wells, as well as a new well currently being finalized, to ensure a ten-year production plateau. First LNG sales—and therefore first revenues—are expected between the end of the first and second quarters of 2026.
“This is an important step towards supplying gas to the Moroccan industry,” commented General Manager Majid Shafiq, emphasizing that Sound Energy is entering “an exciting phase” and is preparing to make a final investment decision for the field’s second phase, intended to feed the national electricity markets.
